HIPAA Notice

In 1996 the government created HIPAA (Health insurance Portability and Accountability Act), which provides protection of patient health information through electronic transfers, privacy and security.

As our agency make plans for HIPAA implementation we must ensure our software supports the exchange of information through mechanism which are safe and secure to meet the requirements of the transactions and code sets of the HIPAA regulations. In becoming HIPAA compliant our agency must test software provided by vendors to ensure the data transmitted is accurate and does not compromise the integrity and the obligation to abide by federal requirements.

HIPAA applies to all health care providers, health plans, clearinghouses, vendors, subcontractors and all entities, which have access to, protected health information including Valeo Behavioral Health Care and Valeo Community Residence Program.
